HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEXTURED HAIR?
Any hair that is not straight is considered textured hair. From small waves to very tight curls, textured hair encompasses a variety of curls and textures. To maintain healthy hair, it is important to provide it with the right type of care. Textured hair mainly needs moisture by nature, but also protein and nutrition. Here are 4 things you should do before taking care of your textured hair
- Know your hair texture
There are 4 main types: Wavy hair has slight wave-like curls on the lengths. The curls are often very relaxed and not very pronounced. Curly hair has more pronounced spiral curls. They tend to have slightly more wavy roots with more defined curls on the lengths. Curbed hair has tight, defined curls from the roots that naturally give it more volume. Frizzy hair has the densest curls with tight spirals. That's why shrinkage is one of the most important steps with this hair texture.
- Identify a lack of hydration
Dehydrated hair usually lacks definition, tangles quickly, looks rough and swells easily when in contact with humidity. By moisturizing your hair on a regular, daily basis, it will regain its bounce, softness, and shine. It is recommended to perform a deep moisturizing treatment after shampooing, once a week, with water-based ingredients and active ingredients, such as aloe vera gel or vegetable glycerin.
- Identify a lack of nutrition
Hair that lacks nutrition often looks dry, breaks easily and its ends are weakened and split. To protect, coat and shine your hair, consider a deep nourishing treatment once or twice a month before shampooing with vegetable oils or butters.
- Identify a lack of protein
Hair lacking in protein appears elastic and is limp and without volume. This is often the case with hair that has been weakened and damaged by chemical treatments. To strengthen your hair, perform a protein treatment every 4 to 6 weeks with "hydrolyzed" proteins such as silk or rice proteins. Hydrolyzed proteins are the only ones that have the power to penetrate the hair fiber and strengthen the hair in depth.
After a successful wash, care and styling routine, the challenge is to preserve your curls throughout the week until the next wash day. Follow these tips for better hair care. We can help you take better care of your hair. We have some great products in our line.
